WHAT FILIPINO IS LIKE: BELIEFS AND TRADITION IN SELECTED PHILIPPINE PLAYS:
THE WORLD IS AN APPLE
NEW YORKER IN TONDO

In the short story 'THE WORLD IS AN APPLE" the belief and tradition is that ,an apple is only for the rich or the wealthy persons can afford to buy it. While for the slum, he or she should choose what is appropriate or suit best for them( I am talking for example in food). Furthermore, the person who is rich or wealthy also control and enjoy life because they have the money to spent.
" THERE IS NO OTHER PLACE LIKE HOME" the belief in the play "NEW YORKER IN TONDO" ,we may go to the different parts of the world ,everything may change,but the fact still remain that you will comeback and back to the place where you've started . Together with your childhood friends ,you will still remember you're past memories.Another fact still remain that we filipinos are known to have close family relationships,which is best on us.
In the short story "3 RATS", "LOVE IS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENS TO A PERSON BUT MAY THE WORST ALSO", into the extend that you're life may at stake.Filipinos are known to be one of the most lovable persons in the world. But when betrayal comes in,its another side of being a filipino that you will witness.A person who is worst that you could ever imagine.the story talks about LOVE, BETRAYAL AND DEATH.
Filipina are known to be lovely ,charming and beautiful that even a married man get attracted.In the short story SABINA the filipino is alike that when they gave love,they gave it with all their heart and soul, effort and courage but sad to say their are person who is liar,who will break your heart into pieces. And another thing you realize ,that you are helpless. The tradition here is that when a woman committed love with a married man ,the whole world will get mad to you,especially your family . Not knowing that you are only giving love for someone.(it's just following the norms).
When the Spaniards came to the Philippines , their greatest contribution to us is one common religion which is Christianity. People rely and having faith in God as a savior ,filipinos believe in saints as the patron or bridge to the Lord. And in the story SEPANG LOCA , the belief here is that sepang ask help from the saint through ritual dance to have a child.Filipinos are very religious and we also kept on believing that God will help and save us .But sometimes having faith and believed is not the basis for saving us and granting your wish and dreams ,let as also consider the essence of ACTION to the stepping stone of our dreams . Because we filipino sometimes are fatalistic ,we always believed in ' BAHALA NA' , we should the change we want to see in the world.

words to describe them all
I'm telling you, I don't know
how to make at all
looking in a long wide way
thinking how to make a poetry
they say it is characterized by beauty
and emotional entinsity
sad to say, it don't have anyway
after reading this one
you suffer from poem syndrome
I know you can't resist this one
trust me you can!
take a deep breathe proceed to the next line
see! I told you ,you can
with a little bit of patient
and a little bit of fun
anyway, this is a poem
